Bear Grylls Knife - What Knife Does Bear Grylls Use?

If you are as big of a fan of Man vs. Wild as I am you have probably wondered about Bear' gear and what Knife that he uses.

Recently Bear came out with his own line of knife. Priced at nearly 700 us dollars this tough built BayleyKnife Bear Grylls signature model left me gasping for air at the ridiculous price. I don't care how great a knife is, for me, $700 smackers is not a realistic price.

I did some research, and before Bear came out with his own knife he was using reasonably priced every day knives that you can easily find in the market place.

So, What knife does Bear Grylls use?

Here is a list of some of the knives that Bear has used and what episodes he used them in.

Buck Iceman - Alaska, and the Moab episodes.
Gerber Serrator with clip point - Hawaii's Kilauea Volcano and Northern Kenya.
Titanium pro divers knife - Costa Rica and Pacific Island episodes.
Wegner Serrated Mountaineers knife - French alps
Buck Zipper - Everglades

All of these knives can be found on the web at reasonable prices they are all under about $65 and some of them are under $40. I am an avid outdoors man and know the importance of having a great, dependable knife at your side but paying nearly $700 for a knife is pretty ridiculous. I hope that some of these alternatives will still let you enjoy using a knife that Bear Grylls uses at a down to earth price.

Take a look at the below link for pictures and further descriptions of the above knives. I have also put together modules for eBay and Amazon so that you can get the best possible prices on the Bear Grylls Knives mentioned in this article. Bear Grylls Gear.

The Bear Grylls Clothing Line - Review

The Bear Grylls Clothing line is brought to us by, none other than, the host of "Man vs Wild", a survival show on the Discovery channel. Bear is a survivalist who, week after week, finds himself the worst of situations and expertly makes his way out alive.

For a survivalist like him - or any one else who enjoys an extreme lifestyle, for that matter - clothing and gear are vitally important. If you are going climbing, hiking, kayaking or anything else, you will need something light enough to keep you cool and that will stretch enough to allow for movement.

Even though the Bear Grylls Clothing line is fairly expensive, you will always get what you pay for. The clothing is extremely well constructed and durable. So far, I've washed my pants countless times and I haven't noticed any fading, discolorations or seam distress.

For a moment, I'd like to continue to talk about the durability of the Bear Gyrlls clothing line. I enjoy long hiking trips and I'm pleased to say that my pants showed no signs of wear or tear after a 10 day excursion to battle the presidential range in the Whites of New Hampshire. Other than the obvious mud and dirt here or there, my pants looked and felt about as good as (if not better than) the day I bought them.

Speaking of comfort, that's another benefit that offsets the pricing of Bear Gylls clothing. I often find myself lounging in a pair of trousers while tackling a bowl of popcorn on movie night or exploring the old dusty attic during spring cleaning. They are just that comfortable - I can wear them almost anywhere.

Bear Grylls Pants - Read This Before You Buy

I've read a few articles where people complain about the price of hiking pants. Most articles say that if you want a decent pair of hiking pants, you'll be looking to spend around $100 to $200.

What if I told you that you could get a pair of durable pants for under $100. Bear Grylls pants come in at about $80 to 90 and are the best budget friendly pants that I've found. Bear Grylls pants come in a two flavors: Bear Combats and Bear Survivors. As far as colors go, they range in standard earth tones: Black Pepper, Cadet Camo (a dark camouflage) and Pebble (brown).

Buying pants online usually makes me uneasy. It seems like one brand's medium is fits like another brand's small. I've returned a few articles of clothing because most stores just can't agree on what a proper medium is. However, I found shopping for Bear Grylls pants fairly easy. The sizing chart gave good measurements and when my size medium regulars arrived at my door, I didn't feel the need to return them. After reading a few reviews on the Bear's site, I've found that other shoppers are as happy as I am about that fact.

Other than being true to size, Bear Grylls pants are also very practical. I never knew that I needed so much pocket space. The cargo pockets can fit anything from everyday items like your wallet and keys to hiking gear such as a knife, a compass, flint, GPS etc.

If you are an outdoors man, you would appreciate the detail that went into making this pants. All of Bear Grylls pants feature fabric that drys extremely fast and is more breathable than regular cotton. Which is a good thing when wading though water or getting caught in the rain.

INFO

“Finally a pair of pants that delivers.” That’s what Bear says. When he’s halfway up a mountain, stretching that extra inch can mean the difference between success and a medical rescue. The Survivors are also built wilderness-tough, so when you’re down from dangling cliff-side, soak up some shine and watch the built-in sun protection do its thing. Lost your shades? Search your pockets. Yep, all of them.

The original price was
£60.00 and now it is only £40.00. Still expensive I wish someone will give me something like this. It is available in 30 - 42 inches sizes in waist. mine is 36 hahahaha..

Bear Grylls Clothes - Worth the Money?

If only there was a piece of clothing that could keep you comfortable in 80+ degree weather. Wouldn't it be great, if this mystical piece of clothing could keep you dry, too. Would it be too much to ask if these quick-drying, cooling clothes were easy to wash and care for, as well?

Actually, I was recently on a quest to find this fabled clothing and I found it in Bear Grylls' clothing brand. If you've ever seen his show you would understand his need for comfortable, quality clothing. On this show, he dives into rivers, treks through jungles and swims through frozen lakes - all in hopes that we learn a thing or two about survival.

Even if your every day life isn't as adventurous as his, you can still benefit from Bear Grylls clothes. As a trial, I purchased his short-sleeved Adventure Shirt. This urban survivalist was pretty surprised and thoroughly impressed. Like most Bear Grylls clothes, this shirt had plenty of useful features. I found a good amount of pocket space that can easily fit a wallet, keys and a cell phone. Also, braving the summer's sun is a breeze when wearing this breathable shirt. But, if you do break a sweat, the shirt lifts the moisture and keeps you dry. Pretty impressive, indeed.

I've found that Bear Grylls clothes can make anything from walking around in the Arizona desert heat to trekking the wilds of Northern Kenya a bit more comfortable for the average wearer. Along with that, I found that my Adventure Shirt is really sturdy and held up well after being washed and dried a many times.

Of course, everything isn't perfect. Even though I am practically in love with the Shirt, I can't really love the price. Just a quick look around the Bear Grylls clothes website, I can see that everything is a bit on the expensive side. However, the quality more than makes up for the price. I'd definitely buy another piece from the Bear Grylls collection I am looking at the survival pants next!
